Catherine’s Heart Quilt
This quilt began as a way to wrap my mother-in-law in the love of her family. I stitched the names of her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren into the top so she could quite literally sleep under their love. As I worked, each name felt like a small blessing, a reminder of the lives that connect us and the stories that continue long after the last stitch is made.
The heart motif became the natural center of the design — a quiet symbol of the home she built and the generations that grew from it. This quilt taught me how powerful it can be to sew memory into fabric, and how a simple gesture can become something deeply comforting.
This quilt was pieced on Phineas (my Pfaff Quilt Expressions) and quilted on Abby (my HQ Amara 20 on a Studio II Frame)
